Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn M. Cordes, age 85, a former resident of Hillsboro and Newtown, who died Wednesday, March 30, in a nursing home in Indianapolis, were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Flanner & Buchanan Broadriple Mortuary. Graveside rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Coal Creek Cemetery, west of Newtown. Mrs. Cordes was born Sept. 21, 1880 in Newtown. She was married to Albert P. Cordes, who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Lucille Cordes of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews.

NOTE: Maiden name MAY be Heady - Albert P. Cordes married Carolyn M. Heady in Cass Co IN 1 Aug 1913 (Bk 33 p 53)
